Villa Bamboo, France

Villa Bamboo, France

Villa Bamboo was conceived as a tribute to the surrounding landscape and to our long-standing personal connection with the region. Childhood summers spent exploring this coastline left a deep impression on us, its raw beauty, shifting weather, and singular quality of light. The project translates that memory into architecture.

The design responds directly to the site’s elemental character: the cold air, the constant wind, and the proximity of the sea. We aimed to capture the purity of this environment and express it through restrained forms and honest materials. Villa Bamboo is the first in a series of three villas and sets the foundation for our vision of architecture that integrates seamlessly with its surroundings.

A central ambition was to achieve a sensitive balance between warm and cool materials. Between solidity and playfulness. The villa mirrors the rugged yet inviting nature of the coastline, allowing occupants to feel fully immersed in the landscape. Water plays a defining role in many of our projects, and here we introduced a natural-toned pool that echoes the sea nearby, reinforcing the dialogue between architecture and environment.

Careful attention was given to sightlines, daylight, and spatial experience. Each space is oriented to frame views and capture the changing light throughout the day, with the master bedroom standing out as a particularly intimate and atmospheric retreat.

Designing Villa Bamboo was a deeply personal and rewarding process, shaped by shared memories and a close collaboration with the client. The result is a residence that embodies both emotional connection and architectural clarity.
